S4-Research on beliefs about life after death found in Other World Religions

 Aims:

  • To discover what Other World Religions believe about life after death
  •  To research particular Religious viewpoints on life after death 
  • To complete this task by carrying out independent research.
  • To produce a detailed and well written mini INVESTIGATION on this topic as a word document or a power point presentation.

 

Task 1

1.    Look up a selection of websites keying in the following words using Google as a search engine -Life after death and Other World Religions. The following websites are useful-

2.    Read through the relevant information on these sites and choose two religious viewpoints you are most interested in. 

3.    Create a word document or power point presentation, explaining what these two religions believe about life after death e.g. Islam-heaven and hell, Hinduism-reincarnation.

4.    Do you agree with any of these viewpoints? Give reasons for your answer.

5.     Is there any proof that these viewpoints are true?  Explain your answer in detail.

S5 Amnesty International UK -Human rights Investigation. 

Task 1

Using the following website http://www.amnesty.org.uk/ Go to home page then click issues section on left top of page. Find a particular topic you are interested in from the selection given e.g. Iraq, Syria, North Korea sections etc.  Click on the chosen area of study and explore this section of the website. Watch the short youtube clips and read the associated articles.

Task 2

1.    Create a word document or power point explaining the main moral issues arising in your chosen area of study?

2.    What does Amnesty International have to say about your chosen area of study? Explain in some detail.

3.    Do you agree with Amnesty International’s viewpoint? Give reasons for your answer.

4.    Summarise the main moral implications of your chosen area of study?

5.    Which of these issues affecting our world today concerns you the most? Explain why you regard this as your main concern?

Amnesty International -Death Penalty

Task 1

Using the following website http://www.amnesty.org.uk/ Go to home page then click issues section on left top of page. Find “Death Penalty” section, click on this and explore “The Penalty” section of this website. Is the penalty worth the price? Watch these short youtube clips.

Task 2

Explore this website further and find out about the Oneforten project. Watch the relevant clips and read the relevant information on the Death penalty then answer the following questions.

1.    Explain in a word document or in writing in your jotter what this Oneforten project aims to do for those who are innocent on Death row?

2.    Describe some of the moral issues connected with Death penalty?

3.    Explain the main areas of concern which Amnesty International has about the Death Penalty?

4.    Do you agree with Amnesty International’s views on the Death penalty? Give valid reasons for your answer. 

5.    Do you think the Death Penalty should be brought back in the UK? Give valid reasons for your answer. 

Task 3

1.    Choose a specific Death Row inmate case from this Amnesty International website.

2.    Explain in some detail what the case involved and explain the moral implications addressed by Amnesty International’s work?
