S1 & S2

Task 1

Create a 3D Snow Sculpture of your choice.  Your sculpture can not be a traditional snowman, demonstrate your creativity.

·         Photograph your sculpture before it melts.

·         Evaluate your snow sculpture by answering the following questions.

1.    What is your sculpture or what is it inspired by?

2.    Did you use any tools to make your sculpture

3.    How long did it take to create?

4.    What is successful about your sculpture?

5.    If you could change anything about your snow sculpture, what would you change and why?

Task 2

Create a tonal drawing of the view through a window in your house, looking outside (Tone = Light and Dark)

 

Task 3

Use being stuck indoors to practice your observational drawing.  Here is a list of objects to draw. Choose one or two and spend around 1 hour per drawing.  Remember to use tone to show your object as 3d!

·         Your pet

·         Your little brother or sister

·         A tube of toothpaste

·         Your toothbrush

·         Something reflective from the kitchen

·         A piece of fruit

·         Your favourite shoes

·         An ornament from the living room

·         The view from your bedroom window

Compare and contrast a painting by Renoir you have studied with one by Ralph Goings. Discuss the artist’s style, use of the visual elements and mood. Which painting do you prefer and why?

 

Higher Photography

Create a Photo Diary of your day (minimum of 3 photos) using your camera phone.

Edit your photographs using an app to create interesting and eye catching images.

Evaluate your images.  Identify what was successful and what you would do differently if you were to redo the activity.
